eegee's Third Annual Drink Pink Campaign Benefits The University of Arizona Cancer Center
October 1, 2012 - Tucson, AZ - Tucson-based restaurant chain eegee's announces the beneficiary of the third annual drink pink campaign to be The University of Arizona Cancer Center and the Better than Ever program.
Since 2009, eegee's has been coloring their signature lemon eegee "pink" during the month of October as part of breast cancer awareness month. A portion of the proceeds from each sale is then donated to a local cancer research center.
This year, eegee's will donate the funds from "Pink" eegees sold to The University of Arizona Cancer Center to support their mission to "prevent and cure cancer" through research-driven, multi-disciplinary cancer prevention and patient care programs.
"The Cancer Center is a leader in research on women's cancers, and we strive to bring the power of that research directly to our patients," said Marisa Allen, Better Than Ever program coordinator. Join eegee's in supporting the Better Than Ever program at the Pink Ribbon 7k on Saturday, October 27, 2012 and Empire High School.
The Drink Pink fundraising campaign will last the month of October at all Tucson and Casa Grande eegee's locations.
Tucson-based restaurant chain eegee's makes and sells their signature frozen fruit drink in lemon, strawberry and pina colada flavors, and a unique "flavor of the month." eegee's also serves made-to-order sub sandwiches, salads, fries and more at all of the 23 locations in Tucson and Casa Grande. eegee's is committed to social and environmental involvement by donating time, food and money to local charities as well as minimizing waste at their 30,000 sq. ft commissary. Last year, eegee's celebrated their 40th anniversary. For more information, visit www.eegees.com.
